Sync problem with Cubase SX

I have a question about syncing my MPC 1K to Cubase SX via MIDI. Everything works fine it records and all. But there is one thing that does not work, when for example I record my kicks at a separate track the first kick is not fully recorded from start, so the start is missing; giving it a Pfffffm sound instead of a Boom sound.

So it seems Cubase starts recording a fraction of a send too late.

Does somebody has an idea what the nature of this problem is and how it should be tackled By the way the soundcard I am using is a Terratec Phase 28 and I am using the official OS from Akai.

check your delay settings from cubase.

Okay, how can I tackle it and in which section /menu should it be altered ??

it can be in 2 differents place :

try smaller values and increase the size because you'll here clicks and glitches
(32, 48, 64, 128, 256 etc...)

human can theorically feel latency when it's larger than 12 ms

okay guys i have input and the output latency being the same with buffer rate of 512.

And I must say it has improved a bit. But my first kick is still missing the beginning.

I dont think youll get it perfectly playing from the start, the usual way to work around this is inserting an empty bar at the beginning, thats what i do.
