MY mpc1k and minor static after takin it outa town with me..

i bought my mpc like a year ago, it was barely used i woulda thought brand new if not told, every thing was straight for months, then i took it outa town with me in a bag pretty secure, but when i came back in to town i noticed that a headphone jack was in the slot the whole time, but saw no damage but now occasionaly this slight static noise comes either on its own or when i plug in headphones, i get rid of the static by messing with my output wires (like flip floppin them or unplugin and plugin back in).
basicly its not that bad i still use it for my beats and the recording picks up no static, but i can hear it live, but i love my mpc and if its hurt i wanna fix it.
pplease help me if u know of this type situation...

The static might be coming from bad wires if moving the wires around fixes the problem.
