RECORDING FROM MPC 1000 TO LAPTOP

I BOUGHT THE PLUGS I THAWT WERE NECESSARY TO RECORD INTO THE LAPTOP but when i try to record it for Soundforge or even Audacity, it just doesnt take any sound in.

the plugs that i bought were 2 phono to 1/4 adapter which were then linked to rca cables which was hooked up to my laptop.

plz give me feed back n whut i should do and if it sounds to confusing lemme knw, thnx!

Make sure your playback and recording devices are set up properly to your soundcard

im not sure, i mean they both say "convent amc" which i checked a few times...could it be that the stereo jack that connects the rca to adapters is not in the right place? basically the stereo jack should go where? i have a laptop so theres no line in, just a mic in or headphone in...

sounds like something on your laptop isn't activated right. could be the soundcard, could be the record in is muted, but def sounds like something about your laptop. experiment around with it, see what you can find out.
