hi everyone i just bought an mpc 1000, and things have been going well with it so far, but i have one or two questions.
The inbuilt memory is just 16meg, but is full of sounds either from the previous owner, or from akai, which are mostly cr*p, so can i delete stuff from the internal memory? I keep on getting insufficient memory!!! notices which are really annoying...
Also, i'm finding that chopping some loops to sound smooth (i.e. not like a loop) is pretty difficult, and the tempo detector is pretty unreliable too. I've done things like this for years on a computer without any problem, but it's seems really hard on the mpc! Any tips or advice? I was under the impression that everything except mixing could be done on the mpc without need for a computer, like on entroducing or prefuse 73's stuff so it must be possible!
Thanks in advance
