One more recording question

Alright, I'm trying to sample mp3s off my laptop.

I'm connecting the mac to the mixer, then the mixer to the mpc 1000. When I play the source, I'm hearing it in the mixer, but the mpc isn't picking up any levels. I've tried raising the record in level, but it still didn't work. any ideas?

Make sure u have the mixer outputs connected to the RECORD IN on the back of the mpc1k and raise the gain volume knob jus a little. Also make sure u have good levels comin from the mac and the mixer levels are set properly.
