tell me how you have your cables plugged in ie,what cable to what port and when you say the triton worked ...in what way did it work ? the computer triggered it?you recorded notes from the triton into the computer?,more detail please

Oh okay. First I'm using Windows Vista (yeah lol).

So with the Triton I did a simple set up. I connect MIDI Out and then USB to the computer. I go into Reason and MIDI works fine (some latency but oh well). I recorded all the notes I played.

Now, I exit everything, turn off the Triton, disconnect the UNO from USB, and plus in MIDI OUT to the MPC 1000 and then connect the USB and nothing happens. The UNO has a led light on it that will tell you if MIDI in or out is active and it does not light up with the MPC but it does with the Triton?

Looked in MIDI options on the MPC and everything is correct (I have the MPC be master to the Triton on my norrmal set up).

Any ideas?

Thanks

My bad!

I connect the MIDI OUT cable to MIDI OUT port on the MPC 1000. Then I plug in the Uno USB port to my computer. This set up works when I do it with the Triton but when I do it with the MPC nothing happens.

I do have the drivers installed for the M-Audio Uno. And I know the MIDI Out port on my MPC works because I use it all the time.

i've not had any experience with that midi interface, but shouldn't it go: midi out from the mpc to midi in of the interface?

The MIDI In on the interface is the same as the MIDI OUT connection (on the Uno there is an actual cord(s) labeled MIDI IN (which connects to MIDI In on your device) and MIDI OUT. So the connection is right, it just isn't picking up the connection. Has anyone used the Uno successfully with the MPC 1000?

another silly suggestion, you have selected the midi out port on the main screen, haven't you?

By unklevers Wed Aug 08, 2007 4:37 pm
Actually I haven't, I will try that when I get home. But shouldn't a MIDI connection be made even before I choose MIDI OUT on that screen? When I sync my MPC and Triton I can trigger sounds on the Triton and vice versa before I choose MIDI Out on that screen?

Should be the "midi in" cable to the "midi out" of the mpc, at least it works this way with my breakout cable, but you surely got that right if it worked with the triton, just an idea.
