Hey guys --- Couldn't find any help in the manual or elsewhere in the forums for this..

Anyone have any experience using external .mid files with the MPC 1000? Basically, I want to take a .mid file that I downloaded from the internet, load it into my MPC, and use the MPC to trigger the playing of notes on a synth. Anyone ever done this?

Also, in the manual, it mentions that midi data is saved as a "SMF" file, I think? Does that mean that the MPC cannot read .mid files?

I'd really appreciate any thoughts on this.. peace, j.

it works, just load up the .mid file and you're good to go. set it to a midi channel and you've got it controlling a synth
