Can MPC1000 automate EVERYTHING like Cubase???

Greetings

Software sequencers like Cubase can automate all MIDI parameters from a synth, they make this very clear. For example, you can hook up a synthesizer and with Cubase and you can control and record the synth’s envelopes, saturation, filter amounts, basically every button that turns on the synth plus more can be recorded, edited, and replayed in Cubase.

My question is, can the MPC1000 do this. Yes, no or some of it

I’d prefer to buy an MPC over Cubase but parameter automation plays a big part in my purchase decision.

PS - there is mention of automation elsewhere in this forum but not a direct yes or no answer.

I doubt it can.... Why dont u just do all your sequencing on mpc then track it in cubase and edit further(do your automating here)

That's a good question - I don't think an MPC can automate your synths parameters - you can insert cc# messages in the step edit page but I don't think you can assign a cc# to the q slider and have it open and close something -

Shyda - youcannotautomate synth parameters (the synth’s envelopes, saturation, filter amounts, basically every button that turns on the synth) once it's rendered into audio - you can automate the VST plug-ins, volumn and pan but not much else -

But I don't know much about the 1000 - Can the q slider be assigned to control things like pitch bend, envelops etc...that would be cool - TOTAL MIDI PRODUCTION! on an MIDI PRODUCTION CENTER!

Oh wait - You can record the Knob movements of your synth back into the MPC - hit record on an empty midi track and twist away - play your sequence back and feel the magic - Make sure your midi out of your synth is connected to one of the midi in's on your MPC -

On the 1000 you can not set the sliders for controlling external gear, though on the 2000(xl) you could, I believe.

djadonis206 is on the right track - recording the knowb movements is what I'm talking about. It' very unclear in the documentation for the MPC1000 or actually any MPC.

I'm actually trying to avoid Cubase or software as much as possible. Sure for recording the final run is cool. But the thing makes too much white noise and is annoying to boot up.
