MPC Fun factor????

What up,

I currently have an all software set-up. I was looking into getting some hardware, in particular the MPC1000. Being a DJ I am very hands on, staring at the computer screen, using a midi keyboard and mouse kinda bores me.

When I see people rock out on an MP they seems like they are enjoying the music they create more.

Has anyone had with software made the switch to hardware, and found themselves vibing better with there tracks?

whats up bro, it kind of sounds like you have your mind made up already. If the DAW stuff doesnt appeal to you the MPC is definately a fun hands on piece of gear you may want to look into. As far as more fun vibing out...thats going to vary by person. Some people love programming over pads and some will love it the other way around. Me personally I work better when I have it all integrated together. some may feel the exact opposite...lets see what else gets posted. Peace.

i was a software user switched to hardware though not because dre or any other celeberty used it .. i didnt switch cause rumor has it that its industry standard.. i didnt switch because i hit a quarter century meltdown and needed to buy myself somthing cause i owed it tomyself. no i bought an mpc cause SOFTWARE IS GAY... i said it. but if ur a creative labs owner with a 4000dollar machine when it was that much in 2000 then u know how much software gets to be pricey.. even the liscences for software just for an update for a fix was ridiculus. that and asio is gay with the wrong interface. plus viruses u get just from the internet i lost 13gigs worth of my own crafted my own made samples due to a virus that destroys windows i couldnt even get my shit back.. ya i had to switch to somthin stable.. the mpc1000 was my reason to be with it. its internet free its what its for and nothing more it does what i need in an all in one workstation.. it may not compare next to software.. shit software does way more than hardware anything... and thats a fact but did u need 200horse power car when all u needed was a smartcar?

the mpc1000 though after 2 years of use has been a trip.. its made me feel like i cant write shit to i have no rythm and so on.. but as u practice u get better u do things the akai way.. and yes there is an akai way.. with imagination u can do anything on this box..no limits vs software witch has many restrictions.. the only restrictions u got on mpc are space and how much time u got left to record. if u do use a comp next to an mpc itll be a wav editor. why the hell would u need more than that? or why need a comp at all? just edit them on the go with an mpc1000

well there you have it folks a different point of view. I can agree with some parts but the whole software is gay thing...I guess a bad experience can make you think twice about a product but if you know what your doing software can be quite convenient. As far as a virus destroying 13 gigs...well if I had 13gigs on a computer chances are I would do one of 2 wise things..1. Backup the data or 2. use a seperate computer for internet. I do agree with the certain restrictions of software and technical issues usually make a person want to smash their skull into the monitor but I wouldnt rule out software completely especially when you have a machine like the mpc which can compliment software rather nicely.
