Bought my mpc 1000 bout a week ago, and noticed that pad 1 doesnt transmitt sound. I think it might be broken but thought I would ask to see if it was supposed to be like that or if I had to do something wihin to make it work. I do know that the pads on the mpc 1000 arent nearly as good as the others.

Where did you buy it from?

If you got it from E-bay, now you know why it was being sold. You can choose not to use the pad, get nyms pad fix now, wait for the official pad fix from Akai to drop which is in limbo for the moment, or you can contact VST and some other on-line shops and buy just one pad sensor. I think they go for around $10 each.

If you got it from a retailer, take it back and get a refund or exchange. Don't put up with that if it is brand new.
