Drum Kit Questions

I haven't had my mpc for that long, but so far I've been looping and chopping drum breaks from vinyl. this works fine, but it's kind of inconvenient. I'm not too familiar with drum kits, so if someone could enlighten me on how to download and import (I have no audio software) into the mpc I'd really appreciate it.

also, I have an 9th wonder drum kit that I used for fruity loops, how and can I import this into the mpc.
and since I don't have any audio software, would that mean I'd have to buy drum kits on cf cards (which is what I was told at guitar center)?

If you have a CF card reader, for your computer, you can put the sounds on your card without any real audio software... Also to get breaks onto your MPC, just either play them through a media player, and record them in, or place the .WAV files on your CF card.........

Your 1000 has a USB port on the back cause you can hook it up to your computer and use the MPC 1000 as a card reader. Just hook it up to your computer and it will show up then just drag the files that you want on your card to the card on your computer and then you can access it on your MP. They're you go. And as far as using the 9th Wonder kit on your MP, you can import the sounds, but not the kit files cause the only Kit/Program files the MPC reads are PGM's (Program) files.

yeah I got the 9th wonder kit for fruity loops (which sucked in my opinion) a while ago so I can't remember where I bought it from. I just bought a j dilla drum kit off crate kings though and I was kinda dissapointed...they did a really bad job editing the drums. you can hear like a click sound everytime the drum sound stops.

so cut the click sound off man.

So basically what youre saying when you download drums and sample off of vinyl and make a program dedicated to drums that it's not a drum kit? If it is not a kit then what is it? It is a set of sounds but what are you going to call it?
Kit- A set of articles or implements used for a specific purpose: a survival kit; a shaving kit.
A container for such a set.
A set of parts or materials to be assembled: a model airplane kit.
A packaged set of related materials: a sales kit.

A collection of clothing and other personal effects used for travel.
A container, such as a bag, valise, or knapsack, for storing or holding such a collection.

Replace all the objects with drum sounds. Guess what that makes it? A drum kit.

he was saying that the actual kit is the container -- program (.pgm) in this case

as long as you have a .wav files somewhere you can transfer them to mpc, but until you have them contained (in a program file) they aren't truly a kit - just a collection of sounds
