Sample tempo changes...

Im looking for some tips on using the Tempo change feature. It has the old tempo, which I beleive is set at whichever your current song/seq. is set to (Lets say 70 for example) . And the new tempo default is.. lets say 120 or so. If you change that new tempo to 90 and you want 90... it isnt 90 right? This confuses me... There isnt anything in the MPC that displays the actual tempo of a sample is there? When its first sampled?

there was and never will never be a way to know the exact tempo of a sample sense samples dont have tempo but a recorded beat witch u play by tapping the beats out with the tap tempo.. itll give u a prediction of what the tempo is but its up to u and ear to tune it to the correct tempo..

if u tap and it gives u a lower bpm and then a higher bpm its usually a bpm in between somewhere with those 2..as for sample calculators u want close to exact get them calculators cause as long as u know how to loop shit and know how many beats are in em u can get perfect tempos for those samples

btw u would have to have no rythym if u cant figure out the tap tempo. learn how to count beats

I can I just need to get better at it, i dont usually work with larger samples.. it just tricks me up when using a vocal sample thats long and trying to break it up and make it sound right up against a beat. I usually just chop it, or slice it... then change the tempo by ear until it sounds right or close... it can be tedious stuff. Ive never used a sample calculator... or maybe I have? The name doesnt sound familiar...
