Ayo what up everybody...I'm new to tha forum and first just wanna say what up......now I'm gonna get a MPC soon but I've come up with two setups so far and I'm not sure which one to go with...here's my scenario

1)I have around 1,000 dollars to spend, somewhere in that area
2)All my samples come from my PC and I need easy connectivity to it, so I want something with the USB option
3)I would also like some 12-bit sampling in my setup
4)I want digital output to record
5)I produce hip-hop

So far, I've come up with two combinations, the MPC60+the S5000 or the MPC1000+the S950.

By getting the first choice I'd get the classic MPC60 sound and feel plus the huge screen of the S5000 and USB function

By the second choice, I'd construct the beats in the MPC 1000 and just sample the sounds i get from the S950 back in to tha 1000..

So which setup you think is better? Would it be more complicated with the MPC60 and S5000 since you have to trigger everything into the sampler? any help would be real cool...thanx peace

Wow, that 60+s5000 set up would kill the 1000 sampler and give you the tight sequencer with 4 midi outs!

I am a 60 owner, so I might be biased, but you won't need your pc for processing with the s5000.

Depends on what for - if portability is not an issue go for the MPC60 and S5000 - or MPC60 and a software sampler (reason/frooty loops/halion/giga sampler/etc)..
If portability is an issue, go with the MPC1000 and a 12 bit old school dirty sampler ...
My two cents

Cop the 60 and the S5000.

Remember that you at least want the 3.10 OS, SCSI may be optional since you can keep your samples in the S5000 and scsi them there. You can sample your sounds into the 60 and then to the 5000.

That combo outperforms the other in power and ease of use for sure. You got me getting jealous!
