When recording a sample do u have to quantitize your drums

sampling is not as easy as i thought. when i try to play drums over my recorded samples they dont sound right.
yes i have the timing correct set to 1/16 and im playing the sample back on tempo. i have my metronome at 1/4.

its like the sample drowns out the drums. and do u have to quantitize drums.

try quantize off and make love with your inner timing correct, it will love you back..

lol...the only thing you HAVE to do it try it over and over until you find a sound your happy with. Sometimes quantize backfires other times it icing on the cake.

Yeah, there is a science to sampling. Its not as easy as all the "sampling is for untalented/uncreative" people seem to think it is.
It will take your time. The best advice I can give you is to 1) keep your ears open. Seriously! Listen to a lote of music. Listen to a lot of sampled music. And listen to a lot of what people are talking about on the forum.
2) study time signatures. It just helps!
3) KEEP YOUR EARS OPEN! You really gotta do a lot of listening. You'll learn all you need to know from your ears.

its funny how i got into an argument with this snobby hoe about sampling! I swear some people with classically trained music backgrounds always want to look down on sampling like were just stealing... If its hot dont we gotta clear it and pay up for clearing the sample? Im sayin... anyway... you gotta find a rhythm my brotha! once you get it down then try your best to play it out... you can also use the loop function to your advantage by locking in 1 to 2 bars at a time....and with that awesome new pad update youll be doing 8 to 16 bar unquantized drum prefomances in no time... good luck cuz
