MPC1000 QUSTIONS (USEING THE MPC 4 LONG PERIODS)

I don't know, but that's a very long time bro. Do you have to keep it on that long? You could sample into your computer or listen to the records with the MP off can't you?

word up i think im going to use the mpc only when i need to i just cant help myself i just touch it and then i get up and 12 hours have gone

to be fair there is truth to this i see it on t.v (not like that is 100% right all the time) like 2 weeks ago

but to me i think its safer 2 turn stuff off when when its not in use

Yes there is. Transistors and IC's hate to be turned on and off! They need to be warm to function best, and the heating an cooling of theese chips would slowly fry them. But the machine is best left in the off state (it's also cheaper)!

for all i've heard it is true but that doesn't mean i practice it

in my whole studio experience , i have always noticed studios left on continously bearing in mind they have power conditioners running throughout keeping the power clean as it passes through the gear, in a sense prolonging the life of the gear if it was in a domestic power setup. domestic power is nasty!! why do you think light bulbs can go so easy....lol!

I ain't leaving my MPC on for no 12 hours. I have never been "on it" for 12 straight hours. Ill turn it off. I dont want the screen to wear out. How come my Nintendo Wii stays warm even when it is off? I started unplugging mine...

i think my records was 18 hours stritght but that was on my old 2000 i must have gone 2 the record store found some gems and all i remember was my day going away

still im not gonna be useing my mpc 4 long times as of now

Longest i have probably has been a few days, which is actually more like forgetting to turn it off and not coming back for a few days.
