help recording all sequences and songs

Hi. I use to have mpc 2000 xl in the past and I have sold it (I regret that now).
Now I have Mpc 1000 and it kind of sucks.
Before I used to record songs by doing record all sequences and all songs and then I was recording all programs and sounds and I was giving the same name to those two files for example tune.all and tune.aps.
So by loading those two files I had my tune playing and everything was ok.
Now on MPc 1000 when I do that Mpc don't want to record all sequences and songs.
Question is: how You guys record Your projects, songs on Mpc 1000.
I just installed JJ os 3.08 on it and its cool but it crashes very often.
ANyways I wan't to apologize for my english.
And I need You help.

first advice: use the term SAVE rather than RECORD...

another advice:
save your projects in three easy steps:
1_ create new folder
2_save ALL SEQS&SONGS: this saves the sequencer data, and some settings, such as FX etc
3_save all programmes and samples, replace same files: YES - this will save all your sounds and programmes, inlcuding mixer settings.

This works very well. When you want to load your project, just select the folder and hit LOAD.

There are otrher ways, but this is the one I use.

or just create a new folder and save entire memory.

OK so I am trying to make a new folder on my 2gb compactflah card .
first I have to wait for the window where I put the name of the new folder.
and I mean I have to wait for about one minute. then when I type in the new name of a folder it says "folder name exists"
so i can't make a new folder on my 2 gb Lexar compact flash but when I am doing new folder on the original card everything is ok. maybe its the problem with my card

you can't expect everything to be the same on the 1k as it was on your 2k. if they were the same machine, they would have never started making the 1k. i suggest you RTFM before degrading the 1k. the 1k is very powerful and i would never even think about trading it for a 2k, xl or not. read the manual, learn the machine, and you should be a happy camper.

ok ok i have solved all my problems.
I gues i could not save a programs becouse there was to many files on the card and I wasn't able to creat new folders. but now when I put all the samples in to one folder everything is working.
I am really sorry about all this.
Everything is ok now thanks for Your replyies.
I think there is some potential in this machine.

dont judge before you fully understand and can make an informed decision.
