Can't change program until MPC warms up

Easy All

Searched for an answer to this but couldn't find anything.

Whenever I turn my MPC on, I can't change a program for about 3 or 4 minutes. Then it's fine after that - it's like it needs to warm up.

Not a major problem, but when I use it live I need to turn it on a while before I play just to be sure I won't have any problems.

Any ideas what it might be?

You gotta HD in it? Might be wearing out? Thats seems kinda strange there.

Well definately the hardrive could be goin if there is one. Also I hope you havent dropped your mpc recently. You could also try upgrading to JJ os and see if that makes a difference. You could always go back if you want to

Thanks for the responses, but no I don't have a hard-drive yet, and I haven't dropped it or anything. I'd sooner drop a baby

I recently upgraded to JJ OS but it still has the same problem.

I can get around it by hitting the 'window' key on the program and change it there - it's just annoying!

hmm since the mpc is not analogue like a moog i think one of your buttonss pressed in too hard and its ghosting commands that will temporarily slow down the cpu of that machine.

that's odd... i have the same thing happen to me.... i kinda messes up my workflow a bit. one min its stuck (along with 16 levels) then the next it works.... my mpc's a bit moody. are you running akai os or jj os?

Weird problem. The stuck button sounds like a good theory. Other than that, did you try the factory reset (power on while holding ERASE) and then re-install your OS? Worth a shot at least.

I would take it back if it is still under warranty
