Hi this is my first post, couldnt find this question asked elsewhere. Is there any reason why after I installed 256mb RAM the programs i had created before i installed it are gone and any new programs i create dissapear when I power off?? thanks!!

I think MPC1000s can only be upgraded to 128MB ram

You need a CF card or hard drive installed onto your MPC to save projects like that, RAM just allows you to have more projects/samples OPEN at once, not store information at power off

the mpc uses only half of the RAM that is installed... therefore by installing 256MBs of RAM, it'll use 128MBs. If you have 128MBs installed in your mpc then you're actually only using 64MBs out of it.

not of the chips are all on one side of the RAM dimm, like is the case with the official AKAI part
