How do I Trim chopped samples?

I'm used to using the sp 505 and it would chop with peaks. The MPC 1000 splits the chops evenly. Can I use the Q sliders, toggle wheel, or both to trim my samples.

depending on what os you have i believe its doable

I may be mistaken here but does'nt the JJ OS have an AUTO feature that chops in relation to the peaks?

I'm not really familiar with all the functions what is the difference, which is better, and what are the pro's and cons.

Is the best way to chop evenly to count bars and BPM's of Trimmed sample.
