funny to be making this post on black friday, an american holiday where people buy a lot of sht they don't need (hey, i needed that 22 inch widescreen monitor for reason, ok?!) and get even fatter.

apparently, akai is all out of pad fixes and busy having more made up. overwhelmed with holiday buying spirit, or surprised by the demand?

this was in the "UK Pad Fix" thread, where a mpc1000 user had emailed Mike from MPC-Stuff. He was referred to as saying something to the effect of

"Unfortunately the MPC1000 pad kits were such a low initial realease Akai is having a hard time keeping up with providing enough to go around. We should be getting our next shipment of them in the next week or two."

it would appear that Akai didn't anticipate just how many people needed new pads because their first set were broken.

heh...

Hmm i think AKKIA  New about that pads were faulty... So you would think that they wanna make at least half the amount off 1000 models that were made with the faulty pads...

But the world is full of surprises arn´t (arn´t?? hehe) it?

I better get mine soon before they discontinue it completely.

Hopefully the next batch is the same as the first batch

Good thing is...

All companies must keep sales and production records, therefore, it is theoretically possible to get a hold of the volume they are producing.

Not that it would be an easy task, but you may be able to find out exactly how many people are buying these things, and ergo, have merit for class action proceedings.

The bad thing is...

97% of us in here are too busy, too stoned, or too wasted to do anything about it.
