Buying An MPC 1000

What Do You Guys Recommend Would Be A Good Sound Module,The Motif Rack or Fantom Xr. And Im Getting A Korg Triton Also How Should I Set Them Up?>

u want my opinion dont go with any of those..use ur mpc as a sound module..set up keygroups by pads and wha la all u need is a midi controller like a radium..u got all that u need with ur mpc u dont need no synth or sound modules..shit u can make ur own instruments its why u got a sampler learn ur effects pitch shift timestretch even looping.. dont go overboard cause mpc has the power of a cellphone processor it seems..so always resample when ur done

get the motif or the fantom. i have both and they both have good sounds. he's right that you can do a lot within your mpc but having another pallet of sounds is always good too. i wouldn't limit yourself like that with something that was only meant to be a drum sampler/sequencer and is good for sampling. the mpc is not really good for keyboard sounds, strings, synths, pianos, etc. but both of those are. that's my 2 cents

I'm a preset cruiser and I have a triton. If I could justify spending the extra cash I'd like to have the roland and motif racks, but not really necessary, the triton has all my bread and butter sounds.

reason is better for having ur own sounds, with cubase u r gonna need sum plugins. recommend abysnth, massive. jupiter 8-v plugin is immense to arturia, as is their moog plugin and their arp one too.

if money aint a prob, get urself some hardware instead, because its nice to hav full control over all the various functions of the synth. otherwise get a good midi controller to completent ur software synth.

the triton extreme is the way to go

if ur getting a triton and a whatever to complement ur mpc1000..then get urself some midi cables short as possible 3 feet or shorter depending on how close together ur gonna be working with all units..

to plug them up is easy..

"out" from mpc to "in" to triton
"out" from triton to "in" to mpc1000
"thru" from triton to "in" to other synth

and if u want to make that last synth to talk back to mpc1000 ull need to do this

"out" from synth to "in" to mpc1000

this setup lets u use both synth..this setup lets u tweak the triton and ur second synth and all data goes back to mpc1000

ohh and u have one extra out on ur mpc and an extra thru on ur second synth witch u can plug to whatever else u want to add on but it wont be able to talk back to mpc1000 cause all ur "in" are used up... this requires a midi patchbay or a mergebox i think one of the 2.. someone can help u with that sense i dont know yet what they are fully..

also dont forget to add channel numbers to ur instruments. its al lin the manual on that..
