mulitracking w/ mpc1000?

i just got an 8 in/out multitracking system for my computer to use w/ my mpc.

does anyone know if you can assign tracks out to one of the 4 mix outs on a mpc 1000? if you can, is it better to assign to the mix out or can it be assigned out through midi?

anyone want to post how you're handling multitracking w/ your mpc 1000?

Yes, I've been multitracking with my 1000 onto pro tools and it works great. You can't assign tracks to individual outs but you can assign the pads. What i do is assign pads to 1 through 6 of the outputs, and then pan to the left or the right. This can be done through the mixer within the mpc, and then you have six different sounds on their own channel which is real tight. If you're using pro tools you can even sync protools with you mp so when you hit play/record on pro tools it will start the mp for you.
