pro tools midi mpc 1000 motif question

ok i have pro tools but my midi in is a 2x2 usb which works , and i have a keyboard motif i want to press record on pro tools and it will start my mpc how shoudl i have my stuff wirted rightnow i have out of motif in to mpc and out of mpc into motif ? where and how shoudl i iuncorporate my 2x2 midi box? HELP !

do you even need your 2x2 usb midi? why not connect the two directly? or is that too simple? are you trying to use your computer in the setup also?

so do i start cable out of 2x2 into mpc and then in to motif ? out motif into 2x2? see i have no clue i want to press record on pro tools and it trioggers the mpc 1000 to start any info will be very helpful! thx

Do you want to record seqs in the MPC? or only pro tools? do you want to record motif midi into the mpc or protools? or all of the above?

Figure out what you want to do, then it's easy from there.

ps- you have 2 ports in the MPC, and 2 ports in the 2x2. That gives a lot of options. You could have the 2x2 connected to the keys, and to the mpc, that makes pro tools the grand master of everybody. And you can re-route in the cpu between the keys & mpc. Or you can run the keys to the mpc, and the cpu to the mpc, then turn on omni-AB in mpc so that pro tools can see the motif. You got such a simple setup, there's more options than not. just figure out what it is you want.

i want to record in mpc , then i want keys to work also into mpc , but when i decide to record into pro tools i want to press record and it triggers mpc and keys to record on time into my cpu . can u give me any cable info , liek what into what ? this midi is hard for begginers! thx!
