Good ways to learn the MPC 1000

Hey guys i just got my MPC 1000 working but now im contemplating how i should learn how to use it. Right now im reading out of the manual but im thinking about buying a DVD tutorial because they look fairly easy to learn from. What do you guys think and if you know a good place to buy tutorials from let me kno!! Thanks = )

you can find quite cool videos on youtube too, just type in "mpc 1000 tutorial"

Buy the DVD AND VHS version of the MPC tutorial videos. But by no means should you read the free manual that came with it or actually spend time figuring it out yourself. That would be silly. This forum is no help, either.

spending time on your 1000 instead of logging onto your computer, logging into mpc forums, and creating a new topic called " good ways to learn the mpc 1000"

just youtube search, mpc 1000 beat making or something similar.. or save yourself the time and watch the pete rock future music magazine feature which most people seem to have learned the technique of chopping into 16 smaller bits and replaying it "creatively"

lock yourself in a room with a power source, and your mpc..now don't leave for a week except to eat and shyt..you will be a pro in no time..lol

no better way than to set a goal (a feature, a programming technique) and hit the machine til you understand it

practice. **** a dvd and a youtube. how many people learned to use an mpc before there were dvd and youtube?

feed the mp some samples
play the mpc
when you get stuck, read the manual
when the manual doesnt cover what you want to do, ask on here

but you can learn all you need just by firing it up and keeping that manual near by

when you get the basics, thats when you hit up the forums and start asking for tips.

just press every button and try every option, you won't ever mess anything up.

Look for the WINDOW button to light up too, and press it everywhere that you can.

just remember that you own the mpc... don't let the mpc own you.

Exactly what I did and now I'm on OS2 like flies on ish!
