MPC 1000 Chop Shop question

Long time 2000xl user but am seriously considering getting an MPC1000. I had a quick question regarding chop shop.

Say i had just chopped a drum loop and wanted to adjust the groove (swing) of it manually using grid edit (placing the midi notes slightly earlier or later until you get the perfect imperfection).
Would their be a silence created if i moved the midi note slightly later- because of the gap that has opened up between the two notes or does chop shop automaticallly fill in the gaps like recycle does with a sequecncer?

it's a little different.

intermediate use of alternate loop points on drum tails + appropriate release in the ADSR screen will let you build an extended "air" of your drums. but a just plain chopped sample will have silent spots depending on how you program em. no "automatic tail building" though.

you can also sample air from your record and patch it in that way.
