Hey there
The footswitch outs on the 1000 are demonstrating some really weird behavior over here.
On some programs, but not all, samples play back a lot louder via footswitch than they do if you trigger the same pad with your hand on the 1000. I always have the MPC set to "full level", so this is not the problem.
I thought maybe this problem had something to do with footswitch sounds bypassing the 0-100 volume settings, but I've found this to be false. Does anyone have any idea where the setting is that would affect this?
It has also been really hard to find footswitches that work right with the 1000! There are two kinds of footswitches for the two kinds of "polarities", so if you have the wrong one, the sample plays when you let GO of the pedal, not when you press it. Different brands (Korg, etc) work with different kinds of footswitches, but this information is rarely included with the footswitch itself!
Does anyone know which manufactures footswitches are known to work correctly with the MPC1000 or Akai products in general?
Finally, I'm also getting a lot of double triggering with footswitches and one sound on one program even plays back the sample "filtered" or somehow modulated at random intervals. I cannot account for this at all. Any ideas?
