I FINALLY GOT MY MPC1000!

so ya boy narkotiq finally got his MPC1k, lol

i can't belive my luck either! i cracked that baby open and inside where the NEW pads!!!! i've also got a 2gb cf card, 80gb hard drive and the ram upgrade, evrything is workin pefectly!!!!

i can't wait to start hammerin beats out. i'm just in the process of gettin the JJ OS now...

2nite i'm goin to roll the fattest joint ever, and sit down and read the manual back to back.

Remember you still have this board if you run into something you do not get (And you will).... Last but not least, try to have as much fun doing it as possible........

I JUST GOT MINE TOO!!! Last night! I had the 2kxl... but it was used and wasnt workin all that great... so I just copped the all black 1000, and I'm off today with a fat bag of.... u know...

I got the memory, a 60 GB HD and I am about to sit down now and get into the maunal. I just DL the jjos ver 3.xx.

So We startin this ish together homey... Lets see who can bang one out first!! lol

Im WAAAAY too excited man. Been waiting YEARS to have a brand new MPC fresh outta the box. About the new pads... how do you know if they are the new ones?

try to fold up a corner of a corner pad, ie pad 1, 4, 13 or 16. try to pull the rubber lip up, out, and above the metal frame of the mpc itself. if you can do this, you have the new pads. if you cannot, you have the old pads and you should immediately take it back if you bought it from a store or if you have the option to return it UNLESS you got it for 500 or less USD and it has other upgrades such as additional ram, hard drive, and/or jj os loaded.

What Nym said..... But there is a post somewhere in this section with pics of what your looking for..... If the pads do not come up easily then they are the old ones.... .Don't try and force it like I did on my first one and rip the pads.....

yeah antonym is right - you gotta take the black casing off first, its really easy, the u can see if u have the new pads or not, the new pads are pretty dope.

yeah, you can upgrade the pads yourself, but it's gonna run ya $180 bucks for the new pads abs sensors.

does your mpc not have the new pads?

word round the camp fire is that no muthafukin shops got the pad in stock.

did you buy your mpc used? if not you could bring it back to the joint that sold you it.

I got mine new on the 23 of Nov from Sam Ash and it had the old pads... I took it back a week later and exchanged it because of the torn pad and the one they gave me the second time had the new pads......


If the place you are buying it from is cust serv based, then you can have them order you a new one directly from Akai to ensure you have the newer pads....


There is a post around that has Serial numbers listed for peeps who got the new pads with theirs...


Good luck on the challenge...... I want to be the judge at the end though.....

at mpcstuff.com for 180.00 I bought it from a cat that just bought it like a month ago.... brand new... i'll probably just order it from there and do it myself. no biggie.

no rules... jsut for fun, as we are both (at least me) new to using the mpc.

Id like to have a sampleing contest.

I'm learning how to navigate with the older jj os now... chopping, etc.
