Whats up I just updated my OS from 1.07 to 2.11. I got my mpc about 3 weeks ago and didn't even think to do it so I had some songs I was workin on. I updated my OS and pulled up my most recent song and it was fine except the for the fact everything sounds 3x as low. I see there are quite a few new additions from my update so is there some type of main internal volume I can adjust?

There was an issue with levels changing in old projects made in 1.07 when updating from 1.07 to 2.0+.

It is a known issue. It had something to do with new velocity curves or something like that. Nothing you can do about it but adjust your levels in the new OS.

There were some threads about it but it was a long time ago. Someone figured out the difference and made a chart for people to use if they wanted to see how much they need to turn certain stuff up. You could try a search, but really you should just mix your song again.

would raising the volume when sending it through my sound interface in logic affect the quality?

Technically, it might raise the signal to noise ratio... basically giving you more noise per track and when you mix all the tracks back together the sum of that noise could be noticeable. Always better to boost the sound at the source (in your case the level on the MPC), instead of boosting the signal on your sound interface.

isn't this because maximum volume in the old OS for samples was 70, whereas
in the new ones it's 100?

so when you change over all you samples are still at 70... in the old OS
70 = 100 effectively... if you get what i mean... :?

just a thought...
