Experience How long it took you ???

I just wanted to know from some of the peeps from mpc forums how long it too you to get comfortable with your mpc 1k. so far I had mines for bout a week and 3 days I got the basic stuff down and then some. but still havent made a beat.

i've had it almost 2 months and am still learning new stuff ALL THE TIME... i kinda like that there's so much to it... made my first couple of beats about 2 weeks into it. i just wish i had more time to sit and use it... having a fulltime job that keeps me away from home about 11 hours a day is a pain.

i haven't done much since i'm still struggling to find time for it like i was saying... but i posted a beat i made recently in the Beat Battle thread. i made it completely with sounds from the song for the battle [a Paul Horn track] and used only the mpc100 for everything... check out the other beats as well and vote:

how can we hear it?

the first post in that thread has a link to all the entries from the beat contest that just ended (deadline was sunday)... i think you can also find my beat posted separately on the last page...

you guys should really check out the section of this forum called YOUR MUSIC if you're just looking to check out what people are doing with their MPCs... lotsa beats get posted there daily. lotsa nice stuff you'd never hear elsewhere as well...

about 5 hours... that's how long it took me to glance over and read the manual.

I'm still in bliss after 7 months of ownage and learning every day. Plus I have JJ OS 2 and am freaking out over it's functions, which are great.

im still on the akai os im bout to make the switch to jj when I completely get the akai os down.

15 min.
had work with almost every mpc previous to it.
alot of stuff was still the same.
added jjos and was money!

damn ive had mine a week tomorrow and ive made over a dozen beats already...how do you guys learn stuff but not make any beats? i dont mean full compilations but even 2 or 4 bar D&B?

I done that but its not a beat in my eyes till i make a whole song of it.
