It won't see the MPC until you go in to the "load" screen and hit the "USB" button. It should show up then. If not, what OS are you using?

*edit*

I believe the CF card needs to be inserted in the MPC as well...

Hei.
Thanks.

A 32MB "bonus track" card i got when I bought it is inserted.

I press MODE->LOAD (pad to), and pres USB, and NOTHING happends, the MPC just "crahses" and needs to be restarted.

I'm useing XP

And by the way, I got my MPC yesterday - so I'm a rookie.

Check the manual out...full of useful information.

OT: It's stange that the 1000 doesn't ship with a USB cable. Kinda cheap.
...had to use the cable from my scanner in the meantime.
oh well...
did anyone get a USB cable in the box?

later, must make more beats....

I been readin the manual.(!) I use USB cabel from my digital camera (same type).

It's weird, the computer dont seems to "see" that the MPC is pluged on via the usb.

I'm doing something the wrong way.

Do anyone know anything about it?

PS: I didnt get the USB cabel with the MPC

All it does is add a new "removable drive" under your "My Computer". If this is not happening and you know that the USB port on your PC and the USB cable you are using are good, then I would suspect the MPC USB port may be faulty.

Did you NOT plug the USB cable in until the MPC was in USB mode? Once it is detected, make sure windows disables it before you disconnect again...

Ok.

I getting it now! And it works.
BUT, how do I get out of there? My MPC is "hanging" after I've have moved samples etc. "Please do not remove the USB connection until hte drive icon is removed on PC" ? What do I do?

You have to right click on the add/remove hardware icon in the left hand corner of your taskbar. Once you have done this select stop, windows will then tell you it is safe to remove your hardware and the icon should disappear.

Sorry, that should have been right hand corner!

the drive on the PC, remove the cable on the MPC.

thanks for all the help.

BUT, nothing happends when I remove the cable from the mpc (do I really have to do that!) (!).
The only way to get out of that option is to restart the mpc, and that sucks!

What seems to be my problem? hehe..

Not sure I can help more... once you are SURE the device is stopped via the little icon with the green arrow in the bottom right corner, the MPC should be ok. If you are having this much trouble, you might be better off with a USB card reader and moving the card back and forth between the reader and the MPC. I just bought one yesterday because the USB option on the MPC is pretty weak IMO. It worked but it's just much easier with the card reader.

You do have to unplug the USB cable, them hit the 'main' button on the 1000.
