How to play a bassline?

I got a MIDI keyboard. But its only midi OUT, not in, so I cant plug midi cables both ways (as I did read about in another topic!)

I choose MIDI in a seq. and try to play samples that allready are in the MPC, but I CANT choose notes, and sometimes, the midinotes just "hang" and wont stop.

However, how do I play for example a bassline, or other instruments where i want difrent notes. I know i cant place diffrent samples (in diffrent notes) in difrent pads, like a keyboard. BUT, it has to be an MUCH more effective way to do this.
Like SoundFont files from for example FrutiyLoops where you just have to play the notes at a midikeyboard after you start recording.

I know it can be a stupid question for many people, but please help me if you got the time and interests. I live in Norway, and its NOT much help to get from other people with an MPC. You cant buy them here!!!

Each pad on the MPC maps to a note. Hit the key on the keyboard that corresponds to the note the pad is mapped to. Honestly man, you need to spend some time with the manual. ALL of the info you need is in there.

Trust me, I read it, I've been working with my mpc day and night since i got it! And thanks to you guys, I fixed the USB stuff!

Actually you can. It depends on how many different bass guitar samples you have. You can assign one sample to different pads and give each pad a different tunin in program mode.
For good results you need more sampled notes cause when you tune a sample to high it won't sound like a bass guitar anymore.

Push F4 [note] in program mode. Here you can assign every pad to any note on your keyboard.

Because, its easy from "Soundfont" in fruity loops, where you can play notes with your midikeyboard - and they will stretch for as long as you press the keys. And dont find a way (and the right kind of samples) to do that on my MPC.

Do a lot of you guys use an synth combined with your MPC to get the rigth grooves??

The MPC is only good for drums and loops in my opinion. I use synths for all other sounds.

I should say, the MPC is only good for drums, loops and sequencing. I sequence all my synths with the MPC

Is i a own "synth" forum?

If your trying to say play a bass right on the MPC keys put all the bass pads in the same mute group. It will make it sound more natural than choppy.
