sound distortion when sampling from vinyl

I got the 24 k gold plated stereo cables hooked up from my MPC directly into my turntable numark tt1520 ....and when listening the sound is distorted...alot of static....i tried the rec gain knob...it would only lower the static with lowering the volume as well....also the 1/4 adapters i hooked up to the RCA cables if i push them all the way in the back of the MPC the sound will go off...i have to plug them in only about half way just in order to hear the sound with the static.....i did try to search other topics before posting this so sorry if this is a common answered question but i need help and it would be much appreciated...i was thinking maybe the cables....but i just bought them literally hours ago and maybe the turntable? ive had it for years...but either way it wouldnt explain my 1/4 cables not playing when plugged all the way in to the record jacks

Ah correct me if I am wrong but that TT does not a have a pre amp built in so it's gonna sound like shiet! You need a RIAA pre or Dj mixer.

Yeah that's what you need. So the Turntable RCA's go into one of side of your DJ Mixer & there should be a ground plug with the RCA's that needs to screw to your Dj mixer and then you need RCA to 1/4's cause the RCA is going to go into the Line Out on your Dj Mixer and the 1/4's go into the MPC Record In.

ok i did that ...sounds a bit better but if i plug the 1/4 inch all the way in you can barley hear it....so if i just plug them not all the way in it comes in alot louder but still with static

That would be a problem with you cables I believe. That happens to me and others and it is usually crappy cabling. try different cables and let me know if that works.

yup shitty 1/4 adapters from rca cables was causing it

Good to know. it is very rarely the hardware when it comes to that sort of thing.
