Hey so i am a new Akai MPC 1000 owner and it seems that when i record my drums on my mpc by hitting the pads it sounds different in the recording then from what i hear when i'm hitting the pads. For example when i record a drum sequence on the mpc with the pads (hitting the hi hat and snare for example) it sounds chopy or off beat when the mpc plays back the sequence for me, but when i record me hitting the pads on a tape-deck it is not choppy and everything is in time. I know this might be a hard question to answer or understand but thanks for your help anyways.

check your TC settings.

read your manual if you don't know what that means.

get a copy of the manual from the AKAI website if you don't have one.

Happy you did ask this question as I have had this issue as well. After some reading and just mess'in around it turns out to be the TC.

Like everyones saying its the t.c (timing correction) just change it or turn it off till it sounds right
