16 bit mpc1000 to 24 audio carded computer; gain in quality?

if i was to compose a song using an mpc1000 would the sound quality increase if i was to record, using my computer, playing from the mpc? just wondering cause 24 is the standard and i just wanted to have the best sound quality possible.

if you are going to do anything to what you record into the computer you should record it in at 24 bits. stuff like changing the volume, eq, adding reverb, etc... it'll all come out better if you use 24 bit

if you arent doing any of that stuff then 16 bit is ok.

my sentiments exactly. if you wash a dirty old rusted up buick, it's clean now but it' still rusty and old right?

if the mpc is the only gear you use the record only 16 bit cause thats the bit the mpc is gona reproduce. Save yourself harddrive space. now if you plan to record some vocals with that track later on then it will be good to record at 24 bit

24 bit/96kHz will give you more headroom, thus allowing you to make a more dynamic recording. So, espeically if you intend using vocals, guitars, live instruments etc, it will be very beneficial to record to 24bit, even if certain elements are at 16bit
