Blank Screen When Turned On!

So I turned off my 1000 - it was working fine. Came back an hour later, turned it on, and I now have a blank screen. The memory status message doesn't even show up! I just have a lit up, blank screen. Has anyone else ever encountered this problem? I'm gonna call support but wanted to inquire here as well.

Did you try messin with your contrast?

You just verified this "Rhythmatta" this is the 3rd case Ive heard of MPC 1000 screens going blank...

I brought mines under a month ago from Guitar Center. The black newly updated version. Ive heard and read so many bad things about the blue & red one it just looked diseased..
I demoed my MPC for 4hours.. shut it off for a couple of mins then turned it back on... and the screen FADED AWAY.. I thought it was the constrast and restarted again & it kept on doing it..
It was just a blank green lit lcd screen.... I was SOOOOOO vexed..
The guys at GC obvious swapped it out for me no problem.. since then
I have a new one.. and seriously just think they where built in a rush
I always think that my MPC will burn out on me.. indefintely..
I have 2 wks to get my money back.. I was sayin lets see what happens...
and then I read this on the forum...

i've had the same problem and it was because of the cf card rader that was broken, there was a broken pin that i had to take out of the box. now i'm without a pin but i don't have that problem anymore (maybe i have to change the card reader too) try turning the mpc on without the compact flash card inserted. if the mpc works the problem is like mine.
