mpc1000 80gb harddrive

just got my hard drive in today, installed it, but how do i format it to read 80gb's? right now it says 439.8mb hdd free
112.3mb wave free
4.6mb seq free

439.8? thats strange...

an 80 gb hard rive should read 763. soomething or other, was there anything on the hard rive when you got it?
did you format it?

shyt, maybe some prick sold you a 50gb hard drive lol

my question was how do i formate it? an yes there are programs on the drive that it wont let me deleate them it says that i dont have sufficant privliages to do it. i'm so lost please help

well ifigured it out without any hand holdin but should i split the hard drive into 2 seperate drives if yes how?

No, you cannot split the drive in the MPC (unless you use a hacksaw).

If you format it with the MPC it should wipe the entire drive no matter what is on it. If you tried to format it with a computer or any other machine it will not work properly with the MPC OS because the format routine is different.

PS Don't try to use the Akai OS to format anything as it is known to cause file corruption. Use JJ.
