When im playing live, i want the track to mute when i press the mute button instantly, not after the sample is finished playing. i.e. I have a string solo that i llke to mute and unmute as im playing drums. Ive also noticed that when im playing along with a sequence and some drums, the sequence will just randomly stop playing for a couple of seconds, any ideas why this is happending.

do you mean it actually stops and you have to press play to start it again?

or just that you can't hear it anymore... ?

if it's the latter, read up on polyphony

there's plenty of info on this site about it.

Ummm.... perhaps it is because (according to another post you made) you are using an extremely outdated and long known to be critically buggy version of the Akai software, and when you consider that even the most recent Akai software still has critical bugs and basically still sux, that's really, really, really bad!

Honestly, I haven't heard of anybody on here using Akai v1.03 since it was the current OS. Just go waaayyy back in the archives and you will find out just how much those old v1 releases were "loved".
