Hi,

I just bought this RAM:

Crucial 256MB 144-PIN SODIMM 32MX64 PC133 CL2

I installed it on my MPC, and now when I turn if on, the green screen appears but the OS doesn't start...Now, I've tried reinstalling the OS by pressing WINDOW when turning it on.

The MPC notices that there is 128 mb installed on it, the OS reinstalls real fine, but when it says that the OS will restart in 5 secs, it freezes.

I was wondering if any of you know what to do with that, before I return my RAM and lose shipping + custom money, as well as being credited for something I will buy elsewhere.

As for the CL2 thing, I've checked on the web, and it seems like CL2 is better than CL3 so it shouldn't be a problem....but I am no memory specialist !

Thanks !!!

Bruce

as far as the ram size is concerned it is the right size as the mpc only reads one side of the ram os 256/2 = 128 now as far as the brand goes im not too keen on the brand you might want to check the stick in the mpc1000 forum titled cf and ram recommendations and just purhcase a ram that is listed in that particular thread

cl2 is a faster cache latency than the recommended cl3 so may not be backward compatible.
