Drum Rolls on MPC 1000

I f anyone is familiar with Hiphop from the south....they have a characteristic where they have these crazy drum rolls...where tehsnare just hits like 100 times on one beat.....usually the 4......does anyone know how can I do that on an MPC?

you record it. using note repeat. or get JJ OS and sequence it in grid edit.

Nope, it's quite a standard - and (in)famous - function of all MPCs.

the way to do that with any mpc using standard manufacturer's os is to record your beat in double time. for example, if you want your be to be recorded at 80bpm for 4 bars, then set your tempo to 160 and record for 8 bars. that way while the beat is kind of slow, you can have those crazy fast snare rolls by pressing the note repeat. the snare roll will hit at 160bpm while the rest of the beat will hit at 80bpm. also, the reason i said to increase the bar count is because in double time at 160 bpm the slow beat will be stretched out over 8 bars to make it sound like 4 bars
