mpc 1000 black new model???

hey trying to figure out if you can tell the new models by the serial number.
this one im looking at was purchased this year, with serial# 21k10708022306587

ive seen others with the "k" letter.

in the other forum someone mentioned the ones with a "N" in the serial# were the new ones with updated pads.

ANY HELP ON THIS IS MOST APPRECIATED. thanks.peace
