MPC 1000 Recent Purchase

I have recently purchased an MPC, which has yet to arrive. But I was wondering if anyone on the forum could help shed some light on whether the one I had purchased is new enough to have the good pads, no rust issues, and anything else that may have been a problem with the earlier 1000 models. The auction claimed that it was purchased new in 2007, and as far as I know it appears to be correct.

I just bought mine Apr 8th 2008 and my manual is all black, i have an updated model, thats the only difference i can see from this pic, sorry.

ya I think that one has the old pads. I'm pretty sure they started shipping the new pads when they changed the box they came in from blue to black and the manuals from white to black. I bought mine in 2007 and it has the old pads, came in the old blue box with white manuals.

Still if you got a good price for it its still a good deal.

I have the black manual cover,black rear, but the old pads. Mayby I one of the last series before shifting to the new pads.

This is incorrect. When I got mine it came in a black box with black manuals and old pads.

Its really something how long that it took "AKAI" to take care of this, they have been making the 1000 for how long?

So long story short, old box old pads?

I paid 600, I think that was a good deal but the pad issue is still a bit of a downer.
