1. I was looking on amazon and I saw that there are two different 1000's mostly the color, one was blue while the other is black as seen here http://www.amazon.com/s/ref=nb_ss_gw?url=search-alias%3Daps&field-keywords=mpc+1000&x=0&y=0
I was wondering if anyone knew the difference like was the black one an older model or something.
2. Also can anyone recommend me a good turntable for hooking up to 1000.
i'm feeling thrifty today so i will take 5 precious seconds of my life to answer those questions.
1. i understand that there is one version of the blue model and two versions of the black, i would stay away from buying the blue model as that was the first mpc 1000, there's a great chance you will get lumped with the old faulty pads, there are many threads on here explaining the faulty pads...
should you buy the blue model, you can buy the pad upgrade to solve this problem but it will cost you...
when buying a black mpc you should do your best to find out wether it has the new pads, some do, some don't. the one with the new pads has a
black back panel and the i believe there is a difference in serial numbers, you can also find out by trying to pull one of the bottom corner pads out of the faceplate a little, but as you are buying online you won't be able to do this...
good luck with that.
2. i was djing before i started this production shyt, and i still do it on friday and sunday nights, i'm using cdj's now but i used turntables for a few years...
technics sl1210's are always a safe bet, but there is a stanton deck called the STR8 150 - in my view best turntable in the world, it has key correction, digital output, 3 x more torque than the 1210 and superb build quality, its also cheaper.
when buying turntables, always remember to buy decent cartridges ans stylus, they will determine the quality of your recording...
but all in all, you probably aren't going to shell out that much cash for a turntable to accompany your mpc, but you should!!!!!!!!
and... that actually took me more than 5 seconds to type....
you fukin owe me boy! lol
