and yet, another series of simple mpc questions!

sorry. i know yall are sick of seeing these easy ass questions, but I can't find it using the search function.

my questions are regarding SAMPLES and PROGRAMS.

right after I sample something, and i don't use the "assign to pad" option, the sample can only be accessed by pressing mode>>trim.

my question is (1) how do I then assign the sample to a pad? when i go to the main page, the sample doesn't play. it's still only visible in trim mode.

2nd of all, how do i assign various samples to pads (in a program) AFTER i've trimmed/tweaked them?

I mean, last night i took 6 different samples from 4 different records, and I just wanted to put them in the same bank to be played. i couldn't figure out how to do it!

you should try hitting MODE and then that pad

I hate to sound cliched but RTFM!!!

Just to be a bit clearer, hit MODE and PROGRAM, tap the pad you want to work with, and then use the wheel to select your sample in the top slot (there are four slots for layering samples on the same pad). If you've got the stock sounds autoloaded and you've sampled a few bits and pieces the last thing sampled will be the last sound selected by the wheel. If you do have the stock sounds in there (you can turn them off by disabling autoload) then hold shift when you turn the wheel to move ten sounds at a time - you can get to the end quickly and then roll backwards to pick your sampled sound.

Hope that makes sense - there might well be quicker ways to do it, but that's the way I've been doing it in my short time MPCing. I'm using JJOS1, by the way, I don't know if it's any different in the Akai OS.
