NEED NEW KICKS/SNARES LIBRARY

Anyone know were to find the right kicks,cause i'm not glad with the current libraries i have....man i just can't make my beats sound right,or maybe it's because the sound of the mpc1000 is just 2 bad compared to the mpc60.....my style is east coast early nineties like black moon,pete rock,dj premier,tribe called...etc...

any help would be appreciated...

You should try this but it might not be quite what you are looking for.

If your style is eastcoast much like pete rock, black moon, etc.... I suggest you start building your own drum sound library. Chop up some break from old records or dirty break beat. Layer them up to give that phat sound. EQ it and add some effects. I know this is may sound like a tedious process but you will distinguish yourself from other producers and trademark your own sound.

I've been building my own drum library for about a year now and have to say I'm pretty satisified in the way its sound. Keep diggin' for that sound and you will hit it. peace!!!

the problem with breaks is that mostly the hihats are combined with the kicks and i need a clean kick,i know i can filter it and lay another on top of the filtered one...i quess i need to practise a lot to make it sound right...i remember the first mobb deep albums beats were off the hook....i don't wanna be a copycat but if my beats don't sound right then the whole song ain't really worth shit....

then you must already have drums to fit that style

compress > eq > stack > resample. you literally have remake ya own drums.
i do mine on the asr-10 (effects are better).

right here he compiled covers of one of the most illest drum breaks: (get out my life woman) I have several kits I made with this. You can sample hi hats/tams from many of these breaks, too. this should get you going.

Check out their sound libraries. I pulled over 250 gigs of samples off of that site. A lot of them were $hit, but once I sorted through everything, I ended up with 120 gigs (141,000 one shots) of drum samples, kicks, snares, everything. From marching band stuff to down south snap kicks and blah blah blah.

It's jazzy as hell.

There's also the mailing list too. If you sign up, occasionally you'll get some free samples from Tutor. From what I've received, these samples bang hard.
