Hard Drive issues

I tried installing my new 120gig hard drive, followed the instructions, watched the video, etc. However, my MPC 1000 does not give me the option to "FORMAT HARD DISK" I have the v.2.11 OS installed in it. What else could it be? I sent the Hard Drive back to where I ordered it, he installed it in another machine and got the "Hard Disk" option. Any suggestions?

Make sure you slided that HD fully onto the pins. Do you hear it spinning when you switch on the mpc?

Also, switch to JJ OS before formatting! (free version should be enough for a start)

I just received my new Hard Drive and it is still not working. I even updated to the JJ 3.08 OS, nothing! I still do not get the option "Hard Disk" I get Device:Memory Card only. What else could it be. I do not hear the Hard drive spinning either.

I Have The Same Problem did you ever get this fixed. it also wont read the cd/dvd drive

good question, also, what model hd is it? there is a list of compatible hd's on the akai hd-10 page at akaipro.com.
