Ok look, im tired of people coming at me every time i post anything.

i am simply asking where any of you get your sounds. and by sounds i just mean kicks, snares, hi hats, etc. NOT samples, and i know you dont go through everry song and sample just a kick or one singular sound, i just wanna know where i can get a kit with good sounds, NOT SAMPLES
By Ministry of Undos Thu May 15, 2008 3:07 pm
I just wrote a reply to this and then remembered that linking to other sites' sample collections is a no-no in the forum rules. Maybe that's why you're not having much luck getting answers. Sorry...

working for me, hope it does the same for you.

good luck....I hope this helps.

As the MPC1000 is a sampler and not a synthesizer, all sounds for this instrument are samples. But you mean 'one shot samples' and not 'loops', I think.

Here's a big sample list. There are loops but also the samples you're looking for: kick, snares etc.

Yes we do. It's called not being lazy. It's called controlling your own kit. It's called honing your craft.

Where do I get my sounds, mostly from what you don't like to do.

You can always go to futureproducers forums and stay out of here jutty511. The only way your going to 'get off the ground' is to see how well YOU can sample and make it work for you. If you bought a kit and then made a hot track (who hasn't!!) and your in the studio with Jay, or (i'll be easy on ya) SoaljaBoy and they want a second hot track from you (who hasn't!!) and want to see how you get your sound... the dudes will laugh in your face because you look like a fool not "knowing the craft". Shut up and get with why you got with a sampler in the first place.

I'm still a nOOb here but I've learned so much from KEEPING MY MOUTH SHUT AND TAKING in what others are trying to tell me to help me.

I think its called [constructive criticisms], not sure though....

If you were any type of adventurer, you would see this site offers sounds at a good price.

If you dont want to SAMPLE, then be the EXECUTIVE PRODUCER and sit while the big boys work...

Thanks!

hahaha its funny how people think they're gods on this website...until any of you are you "producers" in the studio with jay or soulja boy or getting any major recognition, you don't hold the right to judge me and what i do, i asked a question and wanted an answer, not to get played, and people on this website have a habit of doing that. instead of answering a question they decide to be a smart ass and beat around the bush. and i know what to do with a sampler, im just new to this one, i just want quick sounds for right now instead of wack factory sounds...is it wrong to get clean single shots without having to do all that sampling because i have a life and a job and school and dont have time to meticulously pick apart songs??? no
so basically yall arent high and mighty and no lampdog you ugly a/s/s nigg/a im not mad im just tired of people like you not answering simple questions

The deal is either you sample them or you buy them. You can always just google "mpc sounds/samples" or check out online auctions. I prefer the free way, but after you spend a few hundred bucks on sample disks and libraries you'll wanna learn how to use the MPC for what it was made for -"SAMPLING" not trying to be smart or nothing, just an straight answer

dog... this site is very helpful to alot of people. in fact helpful to 98% of the people on here gets help from the other people on here. what ppl on here don't like to do is give someone the easy way out. they (including myself) are way more than willing to help those who can show they can first help themselves. and your question is the type of questions that gets clowned because you weren't showing anyone that you are first trying to help yourself. i'll tell you a little unknown secret... those factory sounds that came with the mpc can actually turn into platinum sounds. all you have to do is for example, take a kick from the factory sounds, layer them together, EQ one of them, and put some type of filter on the other one. play the pad and voila, a new sound that didn't take long to do. now you can either resample that one hit to combine the layered sound into one sound or you can just leave it layered. you can take a kick and layer it with a hat and do the same as above, you can take a snare and layer it with a different snare and layer it yet with a third snare and then layer all of that with a clap. filter the shizz out of all 4 sounds and now you have an original snare. all of this with the factory sounds that don't take time away from your life, job or school.

what got people coming at you like this is because straight from the gate, your question was looked at as, ok, i want you guys to do all the work for me and i will just sit back and not do anything. ppl want to see you put in the same work that they did. but fam blahzay has a good idea, google the shizz out of the internet for one shots and drum sounds. there are a lot of places where you can download sounds for free. or since you made a point to say that you don't want to take time from your job (hense, you are making money), then just buy some sounds.

as far as calling Lampdog out of his name, fam was just trying to drop a little knowledge on you, like:
Lampdog wrote:...It's called controlling your own kit. It's called honing your craft...
but it went right over your head. be careful on who you call out their name because you never know, when you really have a problem they may be the only ones who can help you.

peace fam. stay up!

I never thought I was or claimed to be "God". Sounds like you just needed something to say right there though, that's cool.

jutty511 wrote:..until any of you are you "producers" in the studio with jay or soulja boy or getting any major recognition, you don't hold the right to judge me and what i do

"soulja boy" did you just say "soulja boy", dude is a walking gimmick. Please know the difference between gimmicks and skills, sadly enough, both can get you paid. Fortunately one comes to an abrupt ending after the initial oohs and ahhhs were off. The other maintains.

jutty511 wrote:i asked a question and wanted an answer, not to get played, and people on this website have a habit of doing that.

people all around the world will clown like that, not just this website. Sarcasm, clowning, catching feelings. Not being able to take getting clowned. I've been clowned here to. I can handle it though.

jutty511 wrote:instead of answering a question they decide to be a smart ass and beat around the bush.

Instead of beating around the bush, why don't you scrounge the internet and find some kits, or by the time this thread is done and over you could have already thought for yourself and did what sparq advised you to do. "factory" is not an evil word. I guess it's evil only to those who listen to the vanila aspect of the factory" sounds and not realize or even begin to think about what can be done to them to make them more pleasing to the ear (sparq touched on that also). The lazy way out (to just find a kit to work with, no tweaking or anything) is just that, the lazy way out. I never said you were lazy, it's said it's called being lazy. If you are being lazy then you are being lazy. Have I ever done it, yep sure have, but it was never what I wanted. I wanted to create my own so when people hear it, it don't sound much like something you just heard somewhere else, ie, make my own kit, tweak, layer, filter, put work in.

jutty511 wrote:and i know what to do with a sampler, im just new to this one, i just want quick sounds for right now instead of wack factory sounds...

They're not wack, you just haven't tried or given it your all.

jutty511 wrote:is it wrong to get clean single shots without having to do all that sampling

Wrong, nope. Lazy?!?!?!

jutty511 wrote:because i have a life and a job and school and dont have time to meticulously pick apart songs???

Then why'd you get a machine if you don't have time to pick apart songs? Productions takes time.
Picking apart samples & sounds is a HUGE creative part of the whole process that you jumped into. There's no

I'm tired of people like you not respecting the craft and looking for an easy way out.
Calling me ugly I guess is a "pound your own chest" way to up your "trembling in fear" manhood that's hanging on the fence right about now. It's cool though.

first off, the reason i started this post off saying that is because i get tired of my questions not getting answered. and no one here can say that it doesnt happen because ive asked this same question more than once and i get played and not answered. and the reason i did post it on this website was to get answers from people who actually know what they are talking about like you LAMPDOG. ive used the factory sounds to death and i wanted something new and why is their such a damn problem with downloading the sounds like youve never ever done it??? and i clearly said soulja boy referring to a previous post, there is no way in hell i would say that straight from my thoughts. and i said god because its true, people on here who have experience with these machines think they can just give you i guess "tough love" and move on still leaving people clueless about the questions they ask. and this isnt elementary school i dont expect to sit here and take sarcasm and being clowned because its a damn website. all i wanted was a clean answer. and if you would have just told me where to go first and then gave me constructive criticism i would have been grateful. right now im trying to perfect picking the right samples and making them sound the best i can, THEN ill worry about making my own kits. and to say i dont respect the craft is disrespecting me because you dont know what i respect and what i dont so you can think whatever you want to think about me and ill keep thinking youre ugly as the bottom of my damn shoe. it dont mean your beats arent hot so keep doing what you doing and ill keep doin' me, i don't have any more time for this post.

peace and love

Let me just play devil's advocate here...

Not everyone samples from records and this doesn't make them lazy. In fact I don't believe in sampling from records (for my own music), but I respect anyone who takes the time to crate dig around to find their sounds, but to say that a sampler has to be used to rip sounds from copyrighted material is wrong in my opinion. I have to stear clear of all that because I produce for tv and film.

The answer to your question Jutty is that there are thousands of resources on the net for what you are looking for. In fact, look around the outside of the page you are on and you will see adverts for sounds without having to venture away from here. Alternatively try looking at the big boys in the industry and you can't go far wrong.

I don't think trying to ridicule this guy helps anyone on here in the slightest, whether he comes with the right attitude or not. Nobody comes here to be lectured about anything.

I aint trying to lecture anyone, perceive it how you like.

I aint trying to be God, perceive it how you like.

I aint trying to play anyone, perceive it how you like.

I aint trying to disrespect anyone, perceive it how you like.

But I will clown once in a while.

I aint say you "have" to sample from copywritten material, that was some other spin on it, perceive it how you like.

@ Coz, cool, I understand, I'll stop doing whatever it is that irritates people from now on.

@ jutty511, I'll leave u alone and I'll just answer the question(s) from now on. Is there something else you wanted to know about or something in the studio bothering you? If I know about it or have a clue then I'll try and help.
