Poly, Mono and Note Off on the 1000?

Hi. I cant find out how to turn the pad triggering to note off so that when press the pad the sound is heard until i release it. My options only seem to be poly and mono? On my 2k it allows me to do this.

mode + program(pad 7)

highllight the sample field press window

its all in that neat little book that came with the mpc

I have my mates mpc 1000. He doesnt have a manual. Ive tried doing that and it just goes back to main. No window opens. Im on OS 1.07 or something like that i think. Ive just ordered a new 1000, should have it in the next few days. Is that a feature of the new OS?
