Hi, I am not new to this forum... but this is my first time posting. I have had my mpc1000 for a couple weeks now and I am enjoying it. I have written a couple tracks, but during the process I noticed that as my mpc was repeating a sequence, at random times- certain samples would not play. At first i thought that it was a sowftware glitch, but no one else seems to be complaining about it. So I returned it and got a new one...
To make a long story short,
It is happening again. If this is normal, I might be able to live with it... it happens occasionally. Am I unlucky and received another lemon, or is there a deeper rooted problem that I do not know about?

Anyone?

It has happened to me as well. I'm guessing it is a software issue.

Pretty annoying if you ask me.

Hmmm... that is very peculiar

I am surprised that no one else has mentioned it. Why are we the only two who have noticed this? Does anyone's mpc1000 never exhibit this behavior?

I get this too. Not often though. I guess it'd only really annoy me if I was recording tracks onto the computer and it happened. Or if it started happening more frequently...

Sometime my loops forget to play a sample as well. This happens infequently, but it is annoying. I hope when I mix my tracks in Pro-Tools it doesn't happen then. If you resolve this problem please post your solution.

Quoting myself from a previous posting

I notice that both of you are from Canada. The box that my MPC came in seems a bit man-handled... I am worried that maybe certain mpc1000's experienced a rougher shipping and handling process and something may have been shooken out of place. I guess that I would feel more comfortable if twenty or thrity people replied to this post and we could isolate it as a software issue... at least then, I could have a bit of reassurance in believing that this is something that Akai "may" address. So let's see what happens to this post.

I get the same thing too. And I live in Finland.

I think that people shouldn't get overly spooked by bugs.. I really can't see any way that bumping the MPC could result in damage that would result in some samples not being played from time to time.

Maybe this kind of damage is possible, I'm really not an expert, but I think that as long as all buttons and sliders work and the unit powers up, the software is mostly the one to blame.

I'm from the UK and mine does it sometimes. Not so much that it bothers me though.

I hope Akai will solve this in the next os update. I will use the mpc 1000 live with a lot of loops and it's very stupid when suddenly nothing's happening for two measures, in the middle of a song.

...mine drops out every now and then. I bought mine in New York.

I am still curious as to whether or not there are units that do not exhibit this glitch. Does anyone not have this problem?

Not here...if anything, I sometimes get multi-triggers...if I hit the pad, and somewhat hold it (half-assed version of note on), sometimes it will retigger VERY fast.

I can say I haven't had this problem as of yet..bought mine in sf. closest issue I've had to this is notes playing out of place due to timing correct being accidentally enabled. I have, however, had a pad trigger 2-3 times really fast when I barely touch it once.

So it has to be a hardware problem right?
