hello,
i have a mpc1000 + akai os 2.1

i have recorded a single sample, that i would like to chromatically assign
on the whole 64 midi notes... i would like to play it "WITH polyphony"
with an external midi keyboard.

how to do such a mpc "program", WITHOUT computer, and WITHOUT
manually doing this
pad A01 sample01 tune 0 MIDI Note 36
pad A02 sample01 tune 1 MIDI Note 37
pad A03 sample01 tune 2 MIDI Note 38
... ....... .....
pad D16 sample01 tune 63 MIDI Note 99

I'm ok to do this ONCE, but not every time I record a new sample
that I wish to assign cromatically !

Thanks in advance ! J

UP !

Isn't it the "base" for a sampler te be able to assign a sample to the
whole range of a MIDI keyboard.... (and to be able to play polyphonically on it ?)

it surely must be possible easily with the mpc1000 with akai 2.1 os but how ?
16 levels doesn't work : 1) it's not polyphonic, and 2) only 16 notes so 1 octave 1/2

1) is it impossible without jj ?
2) if it is needed, is it availiable with the free os jj 3.08 ? or do i need the 4.xx version ?
3) what are the disadvantages of jj ?
thanks !

Not impossible, but as you said, you have to do it manually.
Version 3.08 does this, iirc. Check the comparison chart somewhere in the sticky threads.
Disadvantages? In the last half year there were 2 reports by users tha 3.08 crashed on them ... once. Go straight to 4.99, it´s a steal.

Just have to reboot. Although its powerful, JJ OS cant destroy your mpc

No crash reported on 4.99 afaik.

Edit: just checked the bug report thread, there has been reported one:

load sample

highlight section>convert to patch phrase

go to patch phrase and hit restore to original

then try to extract as patch phrase again

Move your cursor to "Tune" in the program screen, then press window, thats it(at least thats how its done on the 2.5k).However it is not as good as it should be,I'm using it for basslines but it just doesnt sound right. If someone knows something more, share some knowledge please.
