DATA Wheel makes squeeking noize...

In the last time, my DATA wheel start making some annoying hi frequency squeekings when I turn it... Anybody witnessed something similar before? If so, how didi you solve this?

likely the encoder
doesn't feel like the wheel is scraping against the phrame? (wow - frame - just thought i'd leave that one in there. i need more food/sleep)
